Women's Soccer lands four OCSA First Team All-Ohio honorees

ADA — The Ohio Northern women's soccer team landed four athletes on the Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association's First Team for the 2016 season.
Seniors Shelby Stephens (Cypress, Tex./Cypress Woods), Missy Ward (Columbus/Westerville North), Michaela Gutierrez (Moon Township, Pa./Moon Area) and freshman Meagan Grierson (Miamisburg) all earned the honor.
Stephens, a three-time All-OAC honoree, earned her the accolade for the second consecutive season.
Stephens led the team and ranked fifth in the OAC with nine goals.
The senior also ranked first on the team and tied for fourth in the conference with 24 points and finished her career tied for seventh all-time at ONU with 21 career assists.
Ward earned her second All-Ohio honor and first OCSA First Team All-Ohio honor.
She was tied for third on the team with five goals and had a team-best .654 shots on goal percentage among those with 10 or more shots on goal.
Gutierrez was named OCSA All-Ohio for the second time in her career and earned her third All-Ohio honor.
The senior defender made starts in all 19 games this season.
Grierson, the Ohio Athletic Conference Goalie of the Year was named OSCA First Team All-Ohio in her first collegiate season.
The freshman led the team and conference in goals against average (0.71), and goals against (13).
Grierson also ranked second in the OAC with six shutouts and fifth with a .806 save percentage.
The Polar Bears finished the season as OAC Regular Season Champs and finished 15-4-0 under 13th-year head coach Mark Batman.
