ADA — The Ohio Northern women's soccer team opened its 2015 campaign with a 1-0 victory over Kenyon Tuesday evening at Kerscher Stadium.
The Polar Bears improve to 1-0-0 on the year, while the Lords fall to 0-1-0 on the season.
ONU would find the back of the net early in the second half as junior Rachel Weigman picked up a loose ball and beat the defense to give the Polar Bears a 1-0 lead in the 52nd minute.
Senior Emily Brodict recorded four saves and improved her record to 1-0-0 on the year.
Northern was in control most of the match, posting 15 shots on goal while holding Kenyon to seven shots. The Polar Bears also recorded six corner kicks on the evening.
The Polar Bears will return to action Friday evening as they play host to Albion (Mich.) at 7 pm at Kerscher Stadium.
