ADA - The Polar Bears defeated Muskingum Saturday afternoon 3-0 on Senior Day at Kerscher Stadium.
Ohio Northern improves to 9-6-1 overall, 5-2-0 OAC, while Muskingum falls to 9-6-1 overall and 2-5-0 OAC.
Ohio Northern dominated the first half taking 17 shots and scoring two goals.
Senior Kristina Klusek scored first in the 19th minute as she was able to beat the defense and give ONU the ealry 1-0 lead.
The Polar Bears struck again in the 28th minute as freshman Anna Niemeyer was able to score a dropped ball by goalkeeper Melissa Emmerich.
ONU didn't let up in the second half as sophomore Michaela Gutierrez was able to beat the goalie and push the ONU lead to 3-0.
Ohio Northern held Muskingum shotless in the game, out-shooting the Fighting Muskies 30-0.
Klusek led the Polar Bears firing off nine shots in the game, while sophomore Alaura Mikesell added four shots.
"This was a team win," said head coach Mark Batman. "Everyone was involved and it was a good end to the week."
The Polar Bears are next in action Wednesday as they host Baldwin Wallace in its Red Card Cancer game at 7 pm.
