ADA - The Polar Bears defeated Mount Union Saturday afternoon at Kerscher Stadium 2-0.
ONU dominated the first half controlling the ball for almost the entire half.
Ohio Northern was able to jump out to an early 1-0 lead as sophomore Shelby Stephens was able to capitalize off a cross ball from sophomore Rachel Weigman.
The Polar Bears outshot the Raiders 20-1 in the first half.
The second half was a little more equal but Mount Union was still unable to ward off the attack of the Polar Bears.
Freshman Anna Niemeyer was able to give the Polar Bears the 2-0 lead as she played a deflected ball just out of the reach of senior goalkeeper Maria Favorite.
ONU held Mount Union to just 5 total shots in the game.
Junior goalkeeper Emily Brodict had five saves in the game and recorded her fifth shutout of the season.
The Polar Bears are next in action Wednesday as they host Otterbein in a night game at Kerscher Stadium.
