GRANVILLE — The Ohio Northern women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision at Dension Wednesday at Barclay-Thomsen Field.
The Polar Bears fell to 3-3-0 on the season while the Big Red improve to 5-2-0 on the season.
In the 70th minute Denison's Andrea Witte scored the only goal of the game.
Northern and Denison both had five shots total in the first half but Denison out shot the Polar Bears 16-6 in the second half.
Junior goalkeeper Emily Brodict (3-3) had four saves in the match.
Senior Kristina Klusek had four shots in the game while sophomore Shelby Stephens had three.
Klusek had three shots in total in the first half. She had two solid opportunitues to score in the match - one in the 22nd minute that hit the post and one that came in the 60th minute but was saved by Big Red goalkeeper Jenny Herold.
The Polar Bears are back in action Saturday for its home opener with Case Western Reserve, the game is set for 4:30 pm at Kerscher Stadium.
