ADA -- The Ohio Northern women's soccer team dropped a 2-0 match to Wilmington on Wednesday afternoon at Kerscher Stadium.
The Polar Bears now hold a 9-8-1 overall record and are 5-3-0 in OAC, while Wilmington improves to 11-6-1, 5-3-0.
Wilmington struck early when Rachelle Bowen dribbled down the left sideline and fired a shot into the net in the second minute of play.
Wilmington would expand its lead to 2-0 off an own goal in the 26th minute.
Northern had a couple of chances to get on the board in the second half.
In the 77th minute, senior Colleen Kerger lofted a shot that knocked off of the top of the crossbar and out of play.
Minutes later, junior Kristina Klusek took a header off of a corner kick, but it was saved.
Northern keeper Emily Brodict (8-7-1) made three saves in the match.
Grace Hignite (7-5-1) recorded two saves for Wilmington.
ONU outshot Wilmington 12-11, but the Quakers owned a 3-2 advantage in corner kicks..
Ohio Northern will finish out their regular season on Saturday, when it hosts Muskingum at 1 pm.
The Polar Bears will also honor their seniors before the match.
