ADA -- The Ohio Northern women's soccer team posted a 3-0 win over Heidelberg for its fifth consecutive shutout on Tuesday afternoon at Kerscher Stadium.
ONU is now 9-6-1 on the season with a 5-1-0 OAC record, while the Student Princes drop to 2-13-1, 1-6-0.
Heidelberg attacked early and fired a shot in the first minute past sophomore goalkeeper Emily Brodict.
But senior Abby Vargo raced in and knocked the ball away before it could go into the net.
Senior Sandra Thorarensen put ONU up 1-0 in the 17th minute, taking a pass from senior Abbie Schauble and beating the keeper.
The Polar Bears would expand their lead to 2-0 just six minutes into the second half, when senior Sara Rutherford placed a free kick to junior Kristina Klusek, who headed it over the keeper and into the back of the net.
Just minutes later, freshman Michaela Gutierrez put Northern up 3-0, blasting a pass from senior Lauren Brown into the back of the net.
The goal was the first of her career for Gutierrez.
"Three games in four days is really tough," ONU head coach Mark Batman said. "I'm proud of the girls for grinding it out though. Now we need some time off to rest. We still have three tough games left."
The Polar Bears took 30 shots, 23 of which came in the first half, while Heidelberg took five.
Northern also took 10 corner kicks, while the Student Princes took none.
Brodict finished with four saves in the game, on her way to a fifth straight shutout.
Molly Schriber had 15 saves on the afternoon for Heidelberg.
Ohio Northern will be in action again on Friday at 7 pm when it travels to John Carroll.
