MARIETTA — Senior Abbie Schauble and junior Kristina Klusek each scored goals to lead the Ohio Northern women's soccer team to a 2-0 Ohio Athletic Conference victory at Marietta on Saturday.
The Polar Bears improve to 7-6-1 overall and 3-1-0 in OAC action, while the Pioneers fall to 2-12, 0-5.
Scahuble scored just 12:03 into the match off an assist from senior Abby Vargo to put ONU up quickly 1-0.
Klusek gave Northern some breathing room with an unassisted goal in the 63rd minute.
Sophomore Emily Brodict had one save in goal to record her third shutout of the season.
The Polar Bears out-shot the Pioneers 24-2, including a 14-1 advantage in shots on goal.
Northern had 16 corner kicks to just one for Marietta.
The Polar Bears will return to action Sunday afternoon with a 4 pm match against OAC foe Capital at Kerscher Stadium.
