Schuyler Caprella places second at 157, leads Wrestling to fifth place finish at 11-team Baldwin Wallace Invitational

BEREA — Junior Schuyler Caprella (Harrod/Allen East) placed second in the 157-pound weight class to lead the Ohio Northern wrestling team at the Baldwin Wallace John Summa Invitational on Saturday at the Lou Higgins Center Fieldhouse.
The Polar Bears finished fifth of 11 teams with 64.5 points.
Caprella was 4-1 on the day with a pair of technical falls and improves to 34-8 on the season.
Freshman Bailey Gibson (Elida) placed third at 141 pounds. He finished with a 4-1 record and is now 20-17 on the year.
Two more freshmen, Ben DePrest (Louisville, Ky./Saint Xavier) and Aiden McAlexander (Antwerp) placed fifth in their respective weight classes with 4-2 records.
DePrest was fifth at 197 and is now 8-10 on the season.
McAlexander was fifth at 133 and improves to 10-6 on the year.
No. 4-ranked Wabash (Ind.) won the team title with 150.5 points, No. 7-ranked Baldwin Wallace was second with 142.5 points and NCAA Division II West Liberty State (W.Va.) was third with 129.5 points.
The Polar Bears will return to action on Tuesday when they wrap up the Ohio Athletic Conference portion of their schedule with a 7 pm match at Muskingum.
