Sophomore Nate Barcaskey named Ohio Athletic Conference Wrestler of the Week

ADA — Sophomore Nate Barcaskey (Moon Township, Pa./Moon Area) has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference Wrestler of the Week for the week of Nov. 27-Dec. 3.

Barcaskey earned his second career OAC Wrestler of the Week nod and first this season.

The sophomore led the Polar Bears to a second place finish at the 37th Annual ONU Invitational on Saturday and had a solid performance in a dual meet with Baldwin Wallace on Tuesday evening

Barcaskey got a pair of third-period take downs to rally for a 4-2 victory over No. 8-ranked Gabe Mahaney at Heavyweight in Northern dual meet with BW.

At the ONU Invitational, Barcaskey went 5-0 with three pins to win the Heavyweight title at the ONU Invitational.

Northern returns to the mat on Tuesday evening at 7:30 pm as it travels to Alliance to take on No. 22-ranked Mount Union.
