ADA — Ohio Northern celebrated Senior Night in a dual meet with John Carroll on Tuesday night at the ONU Sports Center.
The result of the match was not to ONU's liking as JCU used a pair of forfeits and a pair of pins to record a 33-12 victory.
The Polar Bears fall to 10-9 overall and 0-3 in the Ohio Athletic Conference, while the Blue Streaks improve to 4-5, 2-1.
Ohio Northern honored its two senior heavyweights, Kody Bellamy and Greg Biben, in a ceremony prior to the match.
Sophomore Evan Hickey posted a first period pin, his team-leading ninth of the season, at 197 pounds to lead the Polar Bears.
Junior Kyler Deeter posted a thrilling 5-2 victory at 165 pounds, icing the match with a takedown in the final seconds during a late flurry between the two wrestlers.
Freshman Austin Windle picked up a 14-7 decision at 184 pounds.
