Tuesday's Meet: The Polar Bears will return to Baldwin Wallace for the second time in four days, this time for an Ohio Athletic Conference dual meet ... Northern is coming off a 5th place finish at the 9-team Baldwin Wallace John Summa Invitational on Saturday ... Six Polar Bears placed in the tournament, led by #7-ranked junior Cody Lovejoy, who won the title in the 285-pound weight class ... Lovejoy entered last weekend tied for second nationally with 17 pins against NCAA Division III opposition and ranked as the 8th-most dominant wrestler in Division III with an average of +4.6296 team points scored per match ... He went 4-0 over the weekend with three more pins and now leads ONU with a 34-3 record and 21 pins ... Senior Michael Pawlitz (197) and sophomore Kyle Brezovec (149) each placed third in their respective weight classes ... Junior Cole Cochran placed fifth at 133 pounds, freshman Jacob Sowers placed sixth at 157 pounds and freshman Gennar Feucht placed sixth at 149 pounds ... Freshman Kyler Deeter did not place in his 157-pound weight class, but he did post a 3-2 record with three falls and won the Most Falls in the Least Amount of Time award ... Sophomore Tyler Gargano is second on the team with a 23-4 record and sophomore Colt Lovejoy, who is out with an injury tonight, is third with a 17-6 record ... The Polar Bears will wrap up their regular season with two OAC home duals next week, hosting #22 Heidelberg on Tuesday and John Carroll on Thursday ... Both matches will begin at 7:30 pm at the ONU Sports Center.
ONU head coach Ron Beaschler: Beaschler in his 26th season at ONU with a 273-192-4 record, a winning percentage of .586 ... He is the all-time winningest coach in ONU history and has the longest tenure as head wrestling coach at ONU ... He was inducted into the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Hall of Fame in 2008 ... He was named OAC Coach of the Year in 1993, 2012 and 2013.
