Cody Lovejoy wins 285 weight class to lead Wrestling at Baldwin Wallace John Summa Invitational

BEREA -- Junior Cody Lovejoy won the heavyweight title to lead the Ohio Northern wrestling team to a fifth place finish at the Baldwin Wallace John Summa Invitational Saturday at the Lou Higgins Center.
The Polar Bears finished fifth of nine teams with 80.5 points. Waynesburg (Pa.) won the team title with 130 points, Thiel (Pa.) was second with 113.5 points and Brockport State (N.Y.) was third with 107 points.
Lovejoy, who is ranked No. 7 nationally, posted a perfect 4-0 record with three pins to win the 295-pound weight class. He improves to 34-3 on the year with a team-best 21 pins.
Senior Michael Pawlitz and sophomore Kyle Brezovec each placed third in their respective weight classes.
Pawlitz went 4-1 with three pins at 197 pounds and Brezovec was 4-1 at 149 pounds.
Junior Cole Cochran placed fifth at 133 pounds with a 4-2 record, freshman Jacob Sowers placed sixth at 157 pounds and freshman Gennar Feucht placed sixth at 149 pounds.
Freshman Kyler Deeter did not place in his 157-pound weight class, but he did post a 3-2 record with three falls and won the Most Falls in the Least Amount of Time award.
The Polar Bears will return to action Tuesday with an Ohio Athletic Conference dual meet at Baldwin Wallace.
