Cody Lovejoy, Tyler Gargano post victories as Wrestling competes at #10 Mount Union

ALLIANCE —Junior Cody Lovejoy and sophomore Tyler Gargano each posted victories to lead Ohio Northern in a 36-9 wrestling loss at No. 10-ranked Mount Union Thursday evening at the MAAC Center.
The Polar Bears fall to 9-6 overall and are 1-1 in Ohio Athletic Conference action, while the Purple Raiders improve to 10-4, 2-0.
After MtU won the first six weight classes, Gargano got ONU on the board with an 17-7 major decision over Chad Ziegler at 174 pounds.
Gargano improves to 23-6 on the season.
Lovejoy, who is ranked No. 7 nationally at heavyweight, capped the night in fine fashion with a 16-0 tech fall at over John Bruketa, notching his team-best 30th victory of the season against just three defeats.
The Polar Bears will return to action Saturday at the Baldwin Wallace John Summa Invitational.
