Wrestling opens OAC action with 48-0 victory at Muskingum

NEW CONCORD -- The Ohio Northern wrestling team opened the Ohio Athletic Conference portion of its schedule with a 48-0 victory at Muskingum on Tuesday night at the Recreation Center.
The Polar Bears improve to 9-5 overall and are 1-0 in OAC action, while the Muskies fall to 0-6, 0-1.
Junior Cody Lovejoy and freshman Kyler Deeter each won by pin to lead ONU.
Lovejoy won in 1:17 at heavyweight and Deeter won in 3:34 at 157 pounds.
Seniors Ryan Fowler and Michael Pawlitz also posted victories by decision for Northern.
Fowler won 6-0 at 141 pounds and Pawlitz won 6-0 at 197 pounds.
The Muskies forfeited six of the 10 weight classes in the bout.
The Polar Bears will return to action next Tuesday when they host John Carroll in an OAC dual match at 7:30 at the ONU Sports Center.
