Four place as Wrestling finishes ninth at 33rd Annual ONU Invitational

ADA — Four Ohio Northern wrestlers placed in the top eight in their respective weight classes at the 33rd-annual ONU Invitational Saturday at the ONU Sports Center.
Ohio Northern finished with 70 points to finish ninth in the 12-team tournament.
No. 13-ranked (DIII) Olivet (Mich.) won the team title with 155.5 points, No. 5-ranked (NAIA) Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) was second with 145 points and No. 28 Heidelberg (DIII) was third with 126 points.
Top-seeded and No. 5-nationally ranked junior Cody Lovejoy finished third at heavyweight to lead ONU.
Lovejoy finished with a 5-1 record with two pins and is now a team-best 9-1 on the season.
Top-seeded sophomore Tyler Gargano placed fourth at 174 pounds with a 3-2 record and improves to 7-2 on the year.
Ninth-seeded freshman Gennar Feucht and junior Cole Cochran each placed eighth in their respective weight clases.
Feucht was finished eighth at 149 pounds with a 4-3 record and Cochran was eighth at 133 pounds with a 2-3 record.
Feucht is now 7-4 on the year and Cochran moves to 2-5 on the season.
The ONU wrestling team also raised $1,375 and two large boxes of toys with a Toys-For-Tots fundraiser.
The Polar Bears will return to action next Saturday and Sunday at the Midwest Classic at Indianapolis, Ind.
