Meredith Miller scores a career-high 7 goals as Women's Lacrosse wins 19-10 at Heidelberg

TIFFIN — Junior Meredith Miller (Noblesville, Ind.) scored a career-high seven goals that led the Ohio Northern women's lacrosse team to a 19-10 victory Wednesday night at Heidelberg in Hoernemann Stadium.
With the win, the Polar Bears (7-7, 3-3) clinched a berth in the 6-team Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament April 30-May 7.
The Student Princes fall to 0-13 overall and 0-6 in the OAC.
Miller set career highs with her seven goals and eight points in the contest.
Sophomore Elizabeth Graham (Riverside/Carroll) scored four goals to earn her fourth hat trick of the season and freshman Keaghan Burden (Brunswick) scored the second hat trick of her career to add to the ONU scoring attack.
Sophomore Chloe Millican (3-1) earned her third win of the season recording five saves on 12 shots in 47:38 of action.
After being tied at 2-2 with 7:59 remaining in the first quarter, Ohio Northern scored 11 of the next 12 goals to take a 13-4 lead at halftime.
The Polar Bears led 17-5, but 2 Heidelberg goals to finish the third quarter closed the lead to 17-7.
Northern scored the first two goals of the fourth quarter, but Heidelberg responded with the last three goals of the game to cut the lead to nine.
ONU out-shot HU 44-26, and won the ground ball battle 23-17.
Ohio Northern will return to action and play its last regular season road game on Saturday at Capital at 1 p.m.
