Women's Lacrosse wraps up season with Senior Day contest with John Carroll

ADA — The Ohio Northern women's lacrosse team celebrated Senior Day on Saturday in its regular season finale, falling to John Carroll 225 at Dial-Roberson Stadium.
The Polar Bears end their season 7-9 overall and 3-5 in the Ohio Athletic Conference, while the Blue Streaks improve to 10-6, 5-3 and clinch a spot in next week's 4-team OAC Tournament.
ONU honored its lone senior, defender Emily Hershberger (Jackson Township/Jackson) in a ceremony before the game.
JCU took control of the game early, scoring the first eight goals.
Junior Jacqui Lohman (Liberty Township/Lakota East) scored on a free position shot with 8:39 left in the half and sophomore Sydney Skelding (North Plainfield, N.J./Dublin) scored off an assist from junior Betsy Naugle (Moon Township, Pa./Moon Area) with 5:41 left in the half.
The Blue Streaks led 12-2 at halftime, but junior Maddie Storr (Clarence, N.Y.) scored off an assist from Skelding with 2:07 gone in the second half to make it 12-3.
Naugle scored with 22:47 left in the game off an assist from Skelding and it was 13-4.
JCU then scored the next six goals to put the game away.
Lohman finished the scoring for ONU with a goal at the 12:30 mark off an assist from Storr.
Junior Kelli Hill (Worthington) was solid in goal, finishing with 17 saves on 39 shots on goal for ONU.
Hershberger finished her final collegiate game with three ground balls and two caused turnovers.
She became the first player in ONU women's lacrosse history to record 100 caused turnovers in her career and she started all 64 games during her four years as a Polar Bear, earning All-Conference honors twice.
