Maddie Storr scores six goals, but Women's Lacrosse drops 17-16 thriller at NAIA foe Cleary (Mich.)

HOWELL, Mich. — Junior Maddie Storr (Clarence, N.Y.) scored a season-high six goals to lead the Ohio Northern women's lacrosse team in a tight 17-16 loss at NAIA-foe Cleary (Mich.) on Thursday night at the Lake Trust Stadium.
The Polar Bears fall to 3-4, while the Cougars improve to 5-4.
Junior Betsy Naugle (Moon Township, Pa./Moon Area) also had a hat trick with three goals for ONU.
Freshman Kate Naugle (Moon Township, Pa./Moon Area) scored with 1:45 left in the game to pull Northern within 16-15 and Betsy Naugle scored with 47 seconds left to tie the game at 16-all.
But the Cougars got a goal from Jordan Bloch, her seventh of the game, with the game-winner with just 24 seconds left.
ONU scored three straight goals midway through the second half to take an 11-9 lead, only to see the Cougars score the next five goals to go up 14-11 with 6:26 left in the game.
Sophomore Ann McArn (Bay Village/Western Reserve Academy) and Storr each scored to pull ONU within 14-13 with 3:59 to go and sophomore Sydney Skelding (North Plainfield, N.J./Dublin) got a goal with 3:24 to play to make it 15-14, setting up the Naugle sister's goals to tie the game in the final minute.
CU outshot ONU 43-40 in the game and won the draw control battle 22-12.
The Polar Bears will wrap up their three-game road trip on Wednesday at Trine (Ind.)
