Skelding, Woodruff, Larsen Van Alstine lead Women's Lacrosse in loss at Albion (Mich.)

ALBION, Mich. — Freshman Sydney Skelding (Dublin, Calif.) had a goal and two assists and freshman Sabra Woodruff (Beavercreek) had two goals to lead the Ohio Northern women's lacrosse team in a 15-5 loss at Albion (Mich.) on Wednesday evening at the Davis Athletic Complex.
The Polar Bears are now 3-4 overall and the Britons are 4-2.
Senior Shannen Larsen Van Alstine (Neenah, Wis.) broke her own school record with an impressive 22 saves in goal for Ohio Northern.
Woodruff scored with 11:31 left in the first half to give ONU a 3-2 lead.
But Albion would score the game's next seven goals over the next 20 minutes to regain a 9-3 lead.
Skelding and sophomore Rachel Shipman (Noblesville, Ind.) scored goals just 1:54 apart to bring ONU within 9-5 with 11:57 left in the game.
Albion would notch the next six goals to put the game away.
AC out-shot ONU 47-17 and won the ground ball battle 30-24.
The Polar Bears will return to action on March 30 when they begin Ohio Athletic Conference play with a 1 pm contest at Mount Union.
