Women's Lacrosse falls to Hiram in overtime thriller

ADA -- The Ohio Northern women's lacrosse team dropped an exciting 13-12 overtime decision to Hiram on Tuesday night at Dial-Roberson Stadium.
The Polar Bears (1-7 overall) got four goals from freshman Rachel Shipman (Noblesville, Ind.) and held a 12-10 lead in the final minute of regulation.
But the Terriers (3-3) scored twice in the final 26 seconds, including the game-tying goal with 12 seconds left, to send the game into overtime.
HC scored with 11 seconds left in the first overtime period to win the match 13-12.
Autumn Osgood scored a game-high seven goals for Hiram.
Trailing 4-2, ONU scored six of the game's next seven goals to go ahead 8-5 7:23 into the second half.
HC battled back to tie the game at 10-all with 9:20 to play.
Junior Chelsea Cousins (Lewis Center/Olentangy) put Ohio Northern up 11-10 with a goal at the 7:31 mark and freshman Jacqui Lohman (Liberty Township/Lakota East) made it 12-10 at the 5:00 mark.
Hiram out-shot ONU 30-25, but Northern won the ground ball battle by a 19-15 count.
The Polar Bears will begin Ohio Athletic Conference play on Saturday when they host John Carroll at 1 pm at Dial-Roberson Stadium.
