ADA — Sophomore Aliya Hutman-Zahler scored in the fourth minute of overtime to lead the Ohio Northern women's lacrosse team to a 14-13 victory over Wilmington Wednesday on Senior Night at Dial-Roberson Stadium.
The Polar Bears improve to 7-8 overall, 2-4 Ohio Athletic Conference, while the Quakers fall to 2-13, 0-6.
Freshman Maddie Storr scored her fifth goal of the night with three seconds left in regulation to tie the game at 13-all and send it into overtime.
Northern rallied from 3-goal deficits twice, trailing 9-6 and 12-9 in the second half.
Freshman Morgan Weithman scored at the 15:15 and 11:00 marks of the second half and Storr scored to tie the game at 12-all with 7:08 remaining.
Abby Jude gave WC a 13-12 lead with 1:34 to go, setting up Storr's end of regulation heroics.
Ohio Northern out-shot Wilmington 46-36 and won 20 of the 30 draw controls.
The Polar Bears will wrap up their inaugural season on Saturday with a 1 pm contest at John Carroll.
