NEW CONCORD — Ohio Northern scored twice in the final 7:37 to break a 9-all tie and defeat Muskingum 11-9 Saturday afternoon at McConagha Stadium.
The Polar Bears improve to 6-6 overall and are 1-2 in Ohio Athletic Conference play in their inaugural season after posting the program's first OAC regular season win.
The Muskies fall to 4-10, 0-4.
Freshman Maddie Storr scored five goals, including the go-ahead goal with 7:37 left in the game to put Ohio Northern ahead 10-9.
Freshman Maggie Fuller then scored the final of her three goals with 5:33 to go to give the Polar Bears a 2-goal advantage.
Muskingum out-shot Ohio Northern 27-23, but ONU held a 27-21 ground ball advantage and a 27-24 turnover edge.
The Polar Bears will return to action Wednesday at 7 pm at Otterbein.
