Honigford, Burger post top-11 finishes at Wittenberg Fall Classic

SPRINGFIELD — Sophomore Grace Honigford (West Chester/Lakota East) finished second and freshman Amelia Burger (Centerville) tied for 11th at the Wittenberg Fall Classic on Sunday and Monday at the Springfield Country Club.
The Polar Bears (42-5 overall) did not compete as a team in the women's golf tournament, as just three individuals participated from ONU.
Honigford finished second out of 32 golfers with an 83-80—163 and Burger was 11th with an 86-88—174.
Junior Jessica Tubbs (Maumee/Springfield) carded a 98-98—196 to finish 30th.
DePauw (Ind.) won the team title with a 678, Otterbein was second with a 682 and Allegheny (Pa.) was third with a 704.
Ellen Frame of Wittenberg won Medalist honors with an 81-81—162.
The Polar Bears will wrap up their Fall schedule Oct. 25-26 at the Berry (Ga.) Invitational.
