Neumann, Honigford lead No. 24 Women's Golf to victory at second Capital Purple and White Invitational

GALENA — Senior Annika Neumann (Valley City/Avon) and freshman Grace Honigford (West Chester/Lakota East) each shot 82s to lead the No. 24-ranked Ohio Northern women's golf team won the Capital Purple & White Invitational 2 on a cold and windy Sunday at the Royal American Links.
The Polar Bears (15-2 overall) won the 5-team tournament with 337 strokes.
Neumann and Honigford tied for third out of 30 golfers.
Sophomore Meghan Utterdyke (Lebanon/Fenwick) shot an 84 to finish sixth, senior Lydia Cranmer (Farmington Hills, Mich./Ladywood) carded an 89 and sophomore Bella Orofino (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) shot a 94 for ONU.
Otterbein was second with a 342, Marietta was third with a 359, Muskingum was fourth with a 405 and Capital was fifth with a 407.
Otterbein's Lyndsey Blum won Medalist honors with an 80.

The Polar Bears will return to action on Monday at the Muskingum Invitational in Zanesville.
