Women's Golf finishes second at 14-team Heidelberg Fall Invitational

TIFFIN — The Ohio Northern women's golf team finished second of 14 teams at the Heidelberg Fall Invitational Saturday and Sunday at Mohawk Golf and Country Club.

The Polar Bears (12-1 overall) moved up one spot on Sunday after sitting in third place after Saturday's first round.

Northern finished with a 361-351—712 to rally past Mount Saint Joseph (357-357—714) for second place.

Sophomore Lydia Cranmer (Farmington Hills, Mich./Ladywood) finished fourth of 82 golfers with a 20-over par 82-84—166 on the par-73, 5933-yard course.

Senior Suzanne Short (Findlay) tied for eighth with a 90-83—173, senior Caitlin Silva (Hilliard/Bradley) tied for 19th with a 91-93—184, sophomore Hayley Watkins (Bellefontaine) tied for 27th with a 98-91—189.

Ali Metzger of Allegheny (Pa.) won Medalist honors with an 82-80—162.

Wooster claimed the team title with a 339-341—680.

The Polar Bears will wrap up their fall season Sept. 22-23 at the Bluffton Fall Invitational.
