Heather Comer holds first round lead at Women's Golf ONU Spring Invitational on Saturday

HARROD — Junior Heather Comer shot a 45 to hold the 9-hole lead on the first day of the 2016 ONU Spring Invitational women's golf tournament on a cold and blustery Saturday afternoon at Colonial Golfers Club.
The first round of the two-day tournament was shortened to nine holes after snow halted play. The final 18 holes will be played on Sunday, beginning at 10:30 am.
Otterbein leads the team standings with a 193, Ohio Northern is second with a 198 and Capital is third with a 200 in the 6-team field.
Comer leads the 33-woman field with a 45 in tough conditions with temperatures in the 30s and winds gusting more than 40 MPH.
Freshman Suzanne Short is tied for eighth with a 48, while junior Hannah Whisler and freshman Caitlyn Silva are tied for 15th with 52s.
