Women's Golf finishes 12th at 36-hole Wittenberg Fall Invitational

SPRINGFIELD — The Ohio Northern women's golf team competed at the 36-hole Wittenberg Fall Invitational Saturday-Sunday at the Springfield Country Club.
The Polar Bears (18-23 overall) finished 12th of 14 teams with a 372-362—734.
Freshman Suzanne Short had the low round of the tournament for Ohio Northern with a second round 88 on Sunday to finish 57th with a 101-88—189.
Junior Ariana Tomasula led ONU with a 46th place finish out of 83 golfers with a 92-90—182.
Freshman Caitlin Silva was 49th with a 90-95—185, junior Heather Comer tied for 50th with a 95-91—186 and junior Hannah Whisler tied for 55th with a 95-93—188.
Indiana Tech won the team title with 304-305—609, Wittenberg was second with a 298-316—614 and Cortland State (N.Y.) was third with a 334-335—669.
Indiana Tech's Wiebke Schlender and Wittenberg's Macy Hubbard tied for Medalist honors with 3-over par 147s.
The Polar Bears will wrap up their Fall schedule on Tuesday with the OAC Preview Tuesday at River Greens Golf Course in West Lafayette, Ohio.
