Balanced scoring leads Women's Golf to fifth place finish at Capital Invitational

GALENA — Senior Megan Conley and sophomores Ariana Tomasula and Hannah Whisler all shot 186s to lead the Ohio Northern women's golf team to a fifth place finish at the Capital Purple & White Invitational Saturday and Sunday at the Royal American Links and New Albany Links courses.
The trio of Polar Bears finished tied for 16th out of 52 golfers.
Ohio Northern (22-22 overall) carded a 376-364—740.
Trine (Ind.) won the team title with a 350-344694, Mount Union was second with a 363-351—714, Urbana was third with a 367-356—723 and Carnegie Mellon (Pa.) was fourth with a 362-376—738.
Sophomore Heather Comer tied for 24th with a 96-92—188 and freshman Madison Dramis was 46th with a 107-109—216 for ONU.
Trine's Amy Worthington won Medalist honors in a tiebreaker with an 85-83—168.
The Polar Bears will return to action April 11-12 at the Ohio Wesleyan Invitational.
