Tomasula's career-low 83 leads Women's Golf at Ohio Wesleyan Fall Invitational

POWELL — Sophomore Ariana Tomasula fired a career-low 83 in the final round to lead the Ohio Northern women's golf team to a fifth place finish at the Ohio Wesleyan Fall Invitational Saturday and Sunday at the Safari Golf Course.
The Polar Bears (10-12 overall) finished fifth of eight teams with 711 strokes.
Wooster won the team title with 646 strokes, NCAA Division II Charleston (W.Va.) was second with 648 and Ohio Wesleyan was third with a 677.
Tomasula led ONU with a 22nd place finish out of 63 golfers with a 92-83—175 on the par-72, 5,823-yard course.
Sophomore Hannah Whisler tied for 25th with an 89-88—178, sophomore Heather Comer tied for 30th with a 90-88—178 and senior Megan Conley and sophomore Jennifer Hipskind tied for 37th with 185s.
Sharmeen Chinoy of Wooster won Medalist honors with a 155.
The Polar Bears will return to action on Tuesday with an 18-hole match at Northwestern Ohio at Hawthorne Hills Golf Club in Lima.
