Freshman Ariana Tomasula leads Women's Golf at ONU Invitational

HARROD -- Freshman Ariana Tomasula tied for second place out of 20 golfers with an 86 to lead the Ohio Northern women's golf team at the 2014 ONU Invitational Friday afternoon at Colonial Golfers Club.
The Polar Bears (24-48 overall) finished second of three teams with 359 strokes. Davenport (Mich.) won the team title with a 347 and Heidelberg was third with a 403.
Junior Allison Fye finished fifth with an 88, freshman Hannah Whisler was seventh with a 90 and junior Megan Conley was 11th with a 95.
Playing as an individual, freshman Jennifer Hipskind posted a top-10 finish by coming in ninth with a 92.
Alex Merz of Davenport won Medalist honors with an 84.
The Polar Bears will return to action Saturday and Sunday at the Ohio Wesleyan Bump Invitational.
