Whisler fires career-low 82 to lead Women's Golf to fifth place finish at Wooster Spring Invitational

JEROMESVILLE -- Freshman Hannah Whisler fired a career-low 82-96--178 to lead the Ohio Northern women's golf team to a fifth place finish at the Wooster Spring Invitational Saturday-Sunday at Mohican Hills Golf Club.

The Polar Bears (23-47 overall) finished fifth out of nine teams with a 363-367--730.

Whisler broke her own 18- and 36-hole totals with a first round 82 on Saturday and a 36-hole total of 178 to finish 17th out of 56 golfers on the par 72 course.

Junior Megan Conley tied for 19th with a 90-90--180, freshman Ariana Tomasula tied for 25th with a 93-92--185 and freshman Heather Comer was 28th with a 98=89--187.

Denison won the team title with a 333-338--671, Baldwin Wallace was second with a 349-337--686 and Wooster was third with a 362-334--696.

Denison's Anne Miller won Medalist honors with an 80-78--158.

The Polar Bears will return to action Friday when they host the ONU Invitational at 1:30 pm at Colonial Golfers Club.
