Emily Gedert leads field at midpoint of ONU Invitational women's golf tournament

HARROD — Ohio Northern senior Emily Gedert holds the lead at the midway point of the 2012 ONU Invitational women's golf tournament Friday at Colonial Golfers Club.
Gedert carded a 13-over par 85 and holds a 5-stroke lead on the 30-woman field after the first day of the two-day tournament.
The Polar Bears sit third of seven teams with 386 strokes in the team standings. Otterbein is in first with a 364, Capital is second at 381 and John Carroll and Notre Dame (Ohio) are tied for fourth with 421s.
ONu freshmen Megan Conley and Allison Fye are tied for 11th with 96s, senior Kim McGowan is 21st with a 109 and freshman Kaitlyn Nestel is 26th with a 116.
The second and final day of the tournament will get underway Saturday morning at 9 am.
