Brooke Allen posts double-double to lead Women's Basketball to 65-45 win over Wilmington

ADA — Junior Brooke Allen (Woodville/Woodmore) recorded a double-double to lead the Ohio Northern women's basketball team to a 65-45 win over Wilmington on Wednesday night.

The Game
- Allen finished with 11 points and 10 rebounds for her fourth career double-double.
- Fifth-year senior All-American Brynn Serbin (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) tallied 10 points, three rebounds, four assists and two steals.
- Freshman Gabi Croft (Spencerville) was 3-for-3 from 3-point range and finished with nine points off the bench.
- Freshman Chloee Glenn (Glandorf/Ottawa-Glandorf) added eight points and four rebounds, and sophomore Mackenzie Suprano (Cutler/Waterford) finished with six points and nine rebounds.
- Cassidy Lovett led the Quakers in scoring with 16 points.
- The Polar Bears led 14-11 at the end of the first quarter and outscored the Quakers 15-9 in the second to take a 29-20 halftime edge.
- Three consecutive 3-pointers from Croft midway through the second quarter put ONU up 27-17 with 2:58 left in the period.
- Serbin opened the third-quarter scoring with a triple to start a 15-2 ONU run for a 44-22 Polar Bear lead.
- Serbin had five points during that run to go with four each from Allen and Glenn and two from junior Abi Akamine (Lahaina, Hawaii/Lahainaluna).
- ONU led 49-33 going into the fourth quarter en route to the victory.
- Ohio Northern made 22-of-57 field goals for 38.6% and was 6-of-22 from beyond the arc for 27.3%, while Wilmington was 18-of-57 from the floor for 31.6% and made 6-of-24 3-pointers for 25%.
- ONU made 15-of-20 free throws for 75%, and WC was 3-of-5 from the line for 60%.
- The Polar Bears out-rebounded the Quakers by a 48-32 margin and scored 22 points off of 15 Wilmington turnovers.

- Croft's point total marked a career high.
- Suprano's rebound total marked a career best.
- Northern is now 38-23 all-time against Wilmington, including a 22-11 mark in Ada. ONU has won six straight meetings and 21 of the past 23.
- Serbin is ONU's all-time leader in career steals with 260 and assists with 344.
- Serbin ranks ninth on ONU's all-time career scoring list with 1,116 points. She ranks fourth all-time with 160 made 3-pointers in her career, is 13th all-time in made free throws with 194, is 15th all-time in rebounds with 516 and 15th all-time with 381 made field goals.
- Serbin is the only women's basketball player in ONU history to tally at least 1,000 points, 500 rebounds, 300 assists and 200 steals in her career.
- Fourth-year head coach Mark Huelsman is now 58-27 at Ohio Northern for a winning percentage of .682.
