Women's Basketball falls 67-58 at No. 25 Baldwin Wallace in battle of league unbeatens

BEREA — The Ohio Northern women's basketball team fell at No. 25 Baldwin Wallace 67-58 in a battle of league unbeatens on Wednesday night.

The Game
- Fifth-year senior All-American Brynn Serbin (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) led the Polar Bears with 16 points to go with four assists and two steals.
- Junior Brooke Allen (Woodville/Woodmore) added 13 points for ONU.
- BW raced to a quick leads of 8-2, 13-4 and 16-6 and did not trail in the contest.
- Northern pulled within 22-20 with 6:32 left in the half on a basket by freshman Noelle Ruane (St. Marys).
- The Yellow Jackets scored the final six points of the half to lead 37-27 at intermission.
- The hosts opened the third quarter with a 3-pointer to finish a 9-0 run and lead 40-27.
- Northern trimmed the lead to 61-55 with 3:36 left, but BW would score the next six points to lead 67-55 with 38 seconds left.
- Ohio Northern made 22-of-61 field goals for 36.1% and was 7-of-29 from beyond the arc for 24.1%, while Baldwin Wallace was 24-of-48 from the floor for 50% and made 9-of-20 3-pointers for 45.0%.
- ONU made 7-of-11 free throws for 63.6%, and BWU was 10-of-13 from the line for 76.9%.
- The Yellow Jackets out-rebounded the Polar Bears by a 30-22 margin.
- Ohio Northern's defense forced Baldwin Wallace into 18 turnovers to just eight for ONU.
