Women's Basketball lands six members on Academic All-OAC list

ADA — The Ohio Northern women's basketball team saw six members earn Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference status for the 2017-18 season.
Seniors Amy Bullimore (Morrow/Little Miami), Cheyenne Raker (Columbus/Westerville South) and Courtney Cramer (Arcadia), and sophomores Emily Mescher (Maria Stein/Marion Local), Jaclyn Yankle (Youngstown/Cardinal Mooney) and Kaitlyn Hurd (Buchtel/Nelsonville-York) all earned the honor for the Polar Bears.
Bullimore, an Exercise Physiology major, earned the honor for the first time in her career.
The senior was also named First Team Academic All-District 7 by the College Sports Information Directors of America and is now on the ballot for CoSIDA Academic All-America.
The 2017-18 OAC Player of the Year finished her career as Ohio Northern all-time leading scorer (1,484 points), all-time leading rebounder (891 rebounds) and ranks second all-time at ONU with 174 career blocked shots.
In the final game of her career in the OAC Tournament Championship game, Bullimore broke the single-season scoring record at ONU, finishing the season with 492 points.
Bullimore also has the most rebounds in a single season (274 in 2017-18) at ONU, ranks second all-time in field goal percentage (.542), has the third best career scoring average in school history (13.3 ppg), ranks fourth all-time at ONU in free throws made (279), and has the fifth best career rebounding average in school history (8.0 rpg).
The senior led the OAC this season with 17.6 points per contest and 52 blocks and ranked second in the OAC with 9.8 rebounds per contest and shooting .553 from the field.
Raker, a Mechanical Engineering major, earned the Academic All-OAC honor for the second time in her career.
The senior appeared in 24 contests for ONU this season and appeared in 64 games over her career.
She finished her career with 140 career points and 121 career rebounds.
Cramer, a Marketing major, is now a 3-time Academic All-OAC member.
Cramer appeared in and started all 28 games for ONU this season and tallied 181 points. She ranked second on the team with 33 three point field goals this season.
Her 94 career made 3-pointers ranks eighth all-time at Ohio Northern.
Mescher, a Middle Childhood Education major, earned her first career Academic All-OAC honor.
The sophomore averaged 15.8 minutes contest this season and appeared in all 28 games for Northern.
She averaged 6.2 points per contest and ranked third on the team with 4.2 rebounds per game.
Yankle, a Pharmacy major, was named Academic All-OAC for the first time in her career.
She appeared in 10 games for ONU this season.
The sophomore tallied seven points in 42 minutes of action.
Hurd, a Psychology major, was also named Academic All-OAC for the first time in her career.
The sophomore appeared in 17 games for ONU this season and averaged 6.6 minutes per contest.
Hurd scored 32 points this season and has 43 career points.
The Polar Bears posted a 23-5 record this season and claimed the OAC Regular Season crown for the fourth consecutive season under the guidance of 17th-year head coach Michele Durand.
