Bullimore's 13th double-double of the season guides No. 15 Women's Basketball to 70-36 victory over Muskingum

ADA — Senior Amy Bullimore (Morrow/Little Miami) recorded her 13th double-double of the season to lead the Ohio Northern women's basketball team to a 70-36 victory over visiting Muskingum at the ONU Sports Center on Saturday afternoon.
The Polar Bears improve to 19-2 overall and remain atop the Ohio Athletic Conference with a 13-1 record, while the Muskies drop to 6-15, 2-12.
Bullimore paced the Polar Bear offense with a game-best 17 points and also grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds.
Juniors Jenna Dirksen (Beavercreek/Carroll) and Alyssa Manley (Lima/Bath) each chipped in eight points for ONU.
Northern got off to a quick start as it jumped out to an 18-7 lead after just one quarter of play.
The Polar Bears scored 11 unanswered points to begin the second quarter as Bullimore and Dirksen scored four points each and senior Courtney Cramer (Arcadia) nailed a 3-pointer to extend the lead to 29-7 with 5:34 left in the first half.
After Muskingum scored seven straight to pull within 29-14, Manley nailed two 3-pointers to end the half and push the Northern lead to 35-14 at the intermission.
The Muskies would outscore ONU 14-13 in the third quarter to cut the ONU lead to 49-28 after three quarters.
The final period of play proved to be all ONU as it outscored Muskingum 22-8 and saw its largest lead of the game grow to 34 points.
ONU shot 28-of-66 (42.4 percent) from the field, including 6-of-19 (31.6 percent) from 3-point range, while the Muskies were 14-of-60 (23.3 percent) from the field and 5-of-26 (19.2 percent) from beyond the 3-point line.
The Polar Bears won the rebound battle by a 50-38 margin, outscored Muskingum in points off turnovers 24-7 and outscored MU 24-8 in second chance points.
Northern will return home on Wednesday evening as it hosts Heidelberg at the ONU Sports Center at 7:30 pm.
