#10 Women's Basketball rallies for 73-66 victory at Muskingum

NEW CONCORD — The No. 10-ranked Ohio Northern women's basketball team rallied from an 11-point halftime deficit to post a 73-66 victory at Muskingum on Saturday night at the Steele Center.
The Polar Bears (14-1 overall) run their winning streak to 14 games and stay perfect in the Ohio Athletic Conference with an 8-0 record, while the Muskies fall to 6-9, 2-6.
Senior Amy Bullimore (Morrow/Little Miami) scored 19 points, junior Jenna Dirksen (Beavercreek/Carroll) added 12 points and senior Courtney Cramer (Arcadia) chipped in 11 points for Ohio Northern.
Muskingum was led by Alexandra Carson and Olivia Besancon with 22 and 20 points, respectively.
Northern trailed 34-23 at halftime and closed to within 53-49 after three quarters of play.
The Polar Bears went on an 11-0 run to regain the lead at 62-56 with 5:18 to go in the game.
Cramer drilled a 3-pointer to extend the lead to 67-60 with 3:07 remaining.
Senior Alexis Kirkbride (Zanesville/Bishop Rosecrans) scored to make it 69-60 with 2:09 to go and Bullimore followed with a layup at the 1:40 mark and it was 71-60 Polar Bears.
Northern was 27-of-56 (43.4 percent) from the field for 48.2 percent and were 7-of-13 from 3-point land for 53.8 percent, while the Muskies were 24-of-58 (41.4 percent) from the field and 13-of-33 (39.4 percent) from 3-point range.
ONU won the rebounding battle by a 38-28 margin.
Bullimore now ranks second all-time on ONU's all-time scoring list with 1,239 points and is just three points shy of tying Morgan Dumbaugh for the most points scored in Polar Bear history.
Bullimore also climbed within 30 caroms of becoming Northern's all-time leading rebounder with a 9-board effort.
The game was moved to 6 pm after a winter storm hit the area on Friday.
The Polar Bears return to action on Wednesday evening as they travel to Heidelberg for a 7:30 pm contest.
