Wyss, Bullimore lead #15 Women's Basketball in 65-44 victory at Wilmington

WILMINGTON — Junior Tori Wyss (Ada) and senior Amy Bullimore (Morrow/Little Miami) led the No. 15-ranked women's basketball team to a 65-44 victory at Wilmington on Wednesday night at Raizk Arena.
The Polar Bears (6-1 overall, 2-0 Ohio Athletic Conference) stay perfect in the OAC and extend their winning streak to six games.
Wyss scored a career-high 14 points and Bullimore had her fourth double-double of the season and the 25th of her career with 13 points and 10 rebounds for ONU.
Senior Courtney Cramer (Arcadia) chipped in 10 points for Ohio Northern.
The Quakers (4-2, 1-1) were led by Emily Harman with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
The Polar Bears used a 12-1 run in the second quarter to break an 18-all tie and take a 30-19 lead with 1:09 left in the half.
Northern got the final basket of the first half to lead 32-21 at halftime, then scored the first nine points of the third quarter to take a commanding 41-21 lead.
WC got within 43-33 with 2:01 left in the third, but ONU would score the next nine points to go back on top 52-33 with 9:37 left in the game.
A layup by Cramer gave ONU its largest lead of the game at 61-36 with 6:29 to play.
Ohio Northern made 28-of-61 field goals for 45.9 percent and was 4-of-12 from 3-point range for 33.3 percent, while Wilmington was 18-of-56 from the floor for 32.1 percent and made just 2-of-17 from three for 11.8 percent.
Northern won the rebounding battle by a 38-34 margin.
The Polar Bears will return to action on Saturday with a 3 p.m. contest at Mount Union.
