Wednesday's Contest: The Ohio Northern women's basketball team will open the home portion of its 2017-18 schedule as it hosts Case Western Reserve at the ONU Sports Center on Wednesday evening at 5:30 pm ... The contest will be the first of a double-header with the men's basketball team as they host Alma (Mich.) in their home-opener at 8 pm on Wednesday evening ... After dropping its first contest of the season, Northern has rattled off three straight victories ... In its last two contests, senior Amy Bullimore posted her 22nd and 234rd career double-doubles to lead the Polar Bears ... She also climbed into 11th place all-time on Northern's all-time scoring list with 1,061 career points ... Bullimore was named the OAC Player of the Week for her efforts during last weeks two victories ... The senior currently leads the team and Ohio Athletic Conference with 17.3 points per game and nine blocks ... Bullimore also leads the team and ranks fourth in the OAC with 9.0 rebounds per contest ... Junior Jenna Dirksen currently ranks second on the team with 8.0 ppg, while freshman Sydney Ward ranks third on the team with 7.3 ppg ... Ward also ranks second on the team with 6.0 rebounds per contest, while sophomore Emily Mescher and senior Tori Wyss are tied for third on the team with 4.3 rpg ... Case Western Reserve enters the contest after defeating Pomona-Pitzer (Cal.) 74-73 in the David Wells Classic ... The Spartans are 2-2 overall ... Through four games, three athletes are currently averaging double-figures in scoring as junior Hillary Hellmann leads the team with 20.8 ppg, sophomore Kendall McConico ranks second with 14.8 ppg and freshman Emily Todd ranks third with 13.0 ppg ...
