"We got better in the second half," ONU head coach Michele Durand said. "We did a better job of taking care of the ball and guarding the 3-point line. Defiance scored 78 points in its last game, so I am pleased to hold them to 49 tonight. We still have a lot of work to do, but we will take a road win any time."
Ohio Northern made 30-of-58 field goals for 51.7 percent and were 4-of-11 from 3-point range for 36.4 percent, while Defiance was 19-of-61 from the floor for 31.1 percent and were 7-of-28 from beyond the arc for 25.0percent.
