Senior Britt Lauck named Ohio Athletic Conference Player of the Year as four Polar Bears are honored

ADA — Senior Britt Lauck (Lima/Shawnee) has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference Player of the Year and led a list of four Polar Bears named to the All-Conference teams in 2017.
Lauck and junior Amy Bullimore (Morrow/Little Miami) both earned First Team All-OAC honors, while sophomore Jenna Dirksen (Beavercreek/Carroll) was named Honorable Mention All-OAC in 2017.
Head coach Michele Durand earned OAC Coach of the Year honors for the third time in her time at the helm for the Polar Bears.
Lauck earned her second consecutive First Team All-OAC honor and currently leads the team in scoring (14.6 ppg), and leads the team and Ohio Athletic Conference with 97 assists and shooting 88.4 percent from the charity stripe.
The senior currently ranks third all-time at ONU with 246 career assists and ranks 15th all-time at ONU with 962 career points.
Her .884 percentage from the free throw line is currently an ONU single season record.
Bullimore was named First Team All-OAC for the second consecutive season.
The junior leads the team defensively and rank second in the OAC with 8.1 rebounds per contest, and leads the team and conference with 43 blocks.
Bullimore also ranks second on the team with 13.2 points per game.
She currently ranks third all-time at ONU with 116 blocks, ranks 11th with 584 rebounds and is tied for 19th all-time with 912 career points.
Dirksen was named Honorable Mention All-OAC and earned her first All-Conference honor.
The sophomore ranks third on the team with 10.2 points per game and ranks second on the team with 34 steals.
Durand earned her third OAC Coach of the Year honor after leading the Polar Bears to their first undefeated season in school history and winning the OAC Regular Season and Tournament Title.
Northern returns to action this weekend as it hosts the first round of the NCAA Div. III Tournament and takes on Lakeland (Wis.) Friday evening at 7:30 pm at the ONU Sports Center.
