Senior Britt Lauck has career day as No. 23 Women's Basketball tops Mount St. Joseph 69-46

ADA -- Senior Britt Lauck (Lima/Shawnee) led all scorers with a career-high 21 points as the No. 23-ranked Ohio Northern women's basketball team defeated Mount St. Joseph 69-46 Friday evening in the first day of the Dension Tip Off Tournament.
The Polar Bears improve to 2-0 overall with the victory, while the Lions fall to 0-3.
Lauck also added five rebounds and four assists.
Sophomore Jenna Dirksen (Beavercreek/Carroll) chipped in 11 points for Northern, and added four rebounds and three assists.
After knotting the game at 4-4 early in the first quarter, the Lions used to 7-0 run to grab an 11-4 lead with 1:50 remaining in the first quarter, before junior Cheyenne Raker (Columbus/Westerville South) ended the run with a jumper to bring Northern within 11-6 at the end of the first quarter.
MSJ would score the first three points of the second quarter, before a 8-0 run fueled by back-to-back 3-pointers from Lauck tied the game at 14-14 with 5:50 remaining before the half.
The Lions would hold a 25-22 advantage with 20 seconds remaining in the first half before senior Amauria Campbell (Cincinnati/Summit Country Day) drilled a 3-pointer at the buzzer to tie the game at 25-25 at the intermission.
Junior Amy Bullimore (Morrow/Little Miami) and Dirksen would fuel a 12-4 run to open the second half, as they scored six points each and helped Northern gain a 37-29 lead early in the third period.
After MSJ pulled within 42-35, Northern would use a 6-0 run behind five points from Lauck to close out the third quarter and push their lead to 48-35.
Northern would gain even more breathing room in the fourth quarter as they used an 11-0 run behind back-to-back-to-back 3-point plays from Dirksen, Lauck and junior Alexis Kirkbride (Zanesville/Rosecrans) to extend the lead to 61-39 with 6:04 remaining in the contest.
The Polar Bears would go on to defeat the Lions 69-46.
ONU returns to action Saturday at 3 pm, as they take on tournament host Denison on the second day of the Denison Tip Off Tournament.
