Strong start propels Women's Basketball to 82-54 win over Otterbein

ADA — A strong start propels the Ohio Northern women's basketball team to a 82-54 win over Otterbein Wednesday evening at the ONU Sports Center.
The Polar Bears improve to 14-4 overall, 10-1 Ohio Athletic Conference, while the Cardinals fall to 5-13, 2-9.
Senior Jordan Kimes netted a game-high 16 points, as 11 different Polar Bears scored in the contest.
Sophomore Britt Lauck scored 14 points, while junior Brooke Espenschied tied a game-high seven rebounds.
Sophomore Angela Tesny chipped in ten points and dished out a team-high four assists.
ONU opened the contest with a 13-0 run, following a perfect 4-4 shooting from behind the three point line.
Otterbein responded with a 13-0 run of its own, to knot the game at 16, with just over 11 to play.
Kimes and the Polar Bears returned with a 12-0 run, where the senior knocked down her second three pointer of the contest in route to a Polar Bear 39-25 advantage.
The Polar Bears would close out the half shooting an impressive 53.3% from the field and 54.5% from the three.
Ohio Northern continued its hot shooting in the second to dominate Otterbein in route to a 82-54 victory.
ONU shot 54% from the field and 58.8% from three in the contest.
Ohio Northern is next in action Saturday as they travel to University Heights to take on John Carroll at 3 pm.
