Senior Jordan Kimes leads Women's Basketball in 60-40 win over Capital

ADA — Senior Jordan Kimes led the Ohio Northern women's basketball team past Capital, 60-40, Saturday afternoon at the ONU Sports Center.
The Polar Bears improve to 13-4, 9-1 Ohio Athletic Conference, while Capital falls to 8-9, 4-6.
ONU used a strong first half performance from Kimes to propel them to victory.
The senior netted 10 of her total 12 points in the first half.
In the final five minutes of the first half ONU out scored the Crusaders 14-5, and was able to take a 30-19 lead at the break.
Ohio Northern continued its dominance in the second half as they were able to hold Capital scoreless for almost five minutes, and extend there lead to 35-23 with just under 15 to play.
A layup from junior Carly Thomas, followed by a three pointer from sophomore Britt Lauck sealed the 60-40 victory for the Polar Bears.
Thomas and Lauck both netted 10 points in the contest, and Lauck dished out a game-high four assists.
ONU out rebounded Capital 44-30, and was able to find 34 points in the paint to Capitals 22.
The Polar Bears led by as much as 24 points in the contest that saw two ties and four lead changes.
Ohio Northern is next in action Wednesday, as they host Otterbein at 7:30 pm in the ONU Sports Center.
