Freshman Amy Bullimore leads Women's Basketball to 84-52 victory at Otterbein in OAC opener

WESTERVILLE — Freshman Amy Bullimore came off the bench to score a game-high 17 points to lead the Ohio Northern women's basketball team to an 84-52 victory at Otterbein Wednesday night at the Rike Center.
The Polar Bears move to 5-1 overall and are 1-0 in the OAC, while the Cardinals fall to 2-4, 0-1.
Bullimore posted her second career double-double with 10 rebounds to go with her 17 points.
Senior Jordan Kimes also had a double-double for ONU, scoring 15 points and grabbing a game-high 11 boards. It was her second double-double of the season and the 10th of her career.
Junior Carly Thomas added 11 points for the Polar Bears.
Otterbein was led by Taylor Pifher with 11 points and Amariah Huck with 10 points.
Northern used a 17-3 run early in the second half to take control of the game.
With the score tied at 36-all, Bullimore scored seven points to key the run that gave ONU a 53-39 lead with 10:07 left in the game.
A late 16-0 run extended the Polar Bear advantage to 79-47 with 1:58 left in the game.
ONU was red-hot from the field, making 33-of-66 field goal attempts for 50.0 percent. OU made 20-of-61 shots from the floor for 32.8 percent.
Northern won the rebounding battle by a 45-33 margin.
The Polar Bears will return home on Saturday for a 3 pm game against John Carroll on Saturday at the ONU Sports Center.
