Junior Carly Thomas leads Women's Basketball in win over Kenyon 66-46

ADA — Junior Carly Thomas led the Ohio Northern women's basketball team to a 66-46 victory over Kenyon Wednesday evening at the ONU Sports Center.
The Polar Bears improve to 2-1 overall, while Kenyon falls to 1-2.
Thomas had a team-high 16 points and three rebounds.
Ohio Northern jumped to an early 20-5 lead as the Polar Bears were able to hold Kenyon scoreless for almost three minutes.
Kenyon was able to break the scoreless drought as Avery Anderson hit a three with just under 12 to go in the first half, 20-8.
The Polar Bears however, continued to pull away as Angela Tesny knocked down a pair of free-throws to give ONU the 29-10 advantage.
With just under a minute till half-time senior Jordan Kimes hit a layup making the score 35-19 in favor of ONU.
The Polar Bears out rebounded the Ladies in the first half 23-18.
Junior Brooke Espenschied led Northern to start the second half as she knocked down a pair of free-throws and a three-pointer to make the score 42-26 ONU.
The Polar Bears continued to roll scoring the last four points of the game in route to its 66-46 victory.
Ohio Northern finished the game shooting 45.7% from the field and 36.8% from three, while Kenyon was 25.5% from the field and 25.9% from three.
Kimes added 11 points and four boards.
ONU is next in action Saturday as they travel to Adrian (Mich.) for a 3 pm game at the Meriallt Center.
