This Weekend's Series: The Polar Bears will continue the Ohio Athletic Conference portion of their 2021 season with a four-game series with Muskingum this weekend ... A limited number of spectators will be allowed to attend the games based on the OAC's COVID-19 policy ... Each player will receive two admissions each game ... No tickets will be available to the general public ... The OAC eliminated non-conference games for 2021 and adopted a 36-game, double round-robin league schedule ... The teams will play home-and-home series of DHs each Saturday and Sunday from March 13-May 9 with the 6-team OAC Tournament May 12-15 ... Ohio Northern won three of four to Baldwin Wallace in last weekend's series with a pair of wins Saturday at Baldwin Wallace 2-0 and 7-4 and split Sunday in Ada with a 6-1 loss and a 5-4 win... Sophomore Allie Bican threw a complete game shutout in a 2-0 game one win in Berea striking out 10 ... Junior Hannah Rubel led the Polar Bears to a 5-4 win in the finale with a walk-off single ... Jackie Price also won her 100th game as head coach at ONU ... She is now 102-60-1 in five seasons at the helm ... Thru 30 games this season, sophomore Sydney Motylinski leads the team with a .444 batting average, 36 hits, 26 RBI, and 7 home runs ... Her .444 batting average is fifth best in the OAC and is tied for third in the league with 7 home runs ... She also is tied for 31st nationally with 7 home runs ... Senior Brady Guest ranks tied for 6th in ONU history with 16 HRs and is tied for 22nd with 125 base hits... Senior Alicia Swierz became the 40th member of ONU's 100-Hit Club, and now tied for 27th with 118 hits ... Senior Gabby Stewart ranks 10th on ONU's all-time career hits list with 179, is fifth with 17 home runs, fourth with 130 RBIs, is fourth with 42 doubles, and tied for seventh with 272 total bases ... The Polar Bears willw rap up their regular season next weekend with a 4-game series with Otterbein. ... Muskingum enters the series in second-place in the OAC two games behind Mount Union ... Muskingum won three of four against Marietta last weekend splitting with a 3-2 win and 6-5 loss on the road and 9-1, 9-3 wins on home on Sunday ... Senior Kristyn Shaffer leads the Muskies with .416 batting average and 47 hits ... Junior Haley Hawk is second on the team in average with 26 RBI and 16 walks drawn ... MU will feature junior Hannah Smith and senior Hannah Duff in the circle with Smith accumulating a 2.19 ERA, 10 wins and 53 strikeouts in 83.0 innings and Duff holding a 3.26 ERA, 10 wins and 57 strikeouts in 81.2 innings.
