This Weekend's Series: The Polar Bears will continue the Ohio Athletic Conference portion of their 2021 season with a four-game series with 20th-ranked Mount Union this weekend ... The series between ONU and MtU is scheduled for Friday and Saturday afternoon instead of the regular Saturday and Sunday doubleheaders because of Easter Sunday this weekend ... A limited number of spectators will be allowed to attend the games based on the OAC's COVID-19 policy ... Each player will receive two admissions each game ... No tickets will be available to the general public ... The OAC eliminated non-conference games for 2021 and adopted a 36-game, double round-robin league schedule ... The teams will play home-and-home series of DHs each Saturday and Sunday from March 13-May 9 with the 6-team OAC Tournament May 12-15 ... Ohio Northern continued its OAC schedule last weekend with a three game sweep of John Carroll ... ONU swept Saturday's games at John Carroll 10-8 and 10-2 ... ONU won 9-2 in Monday's single-game makeup ... Sophomore Sydney Motylinski went 9-for-12 on the 3-game series with a home run, three doubles, and seven RBI ... Thru 14 games this season, Motylinski leads the team with a .559 batting average, 19 hits and 14 RBI ... Senior Brady Guest ranks tied for 6th in ONU history with 16 HRs and is tied for 25th with 122 base hits ... Senior Alicia Swierz became the 40th member of ONU's 100-Hit Club, and now ranks 37th with 104 hits ... Senior Gabby Stewart ranks 10th on ONU's all-time career hits list with 168, is fifth with 17 home runs, fifth with 124 RBIs and is eighth with 39 doubles ... The Polar Bears will be in action next weekend with a 4-game series against Heidelberg ... Mount Union enters this weekend's series leading the OAC standings after going 3-1 in a 4-game series against Otterbein ... MtU split a pair of games 3-1 and 12-3 Saturday at Otterbein and swept 12-4 and 11-2 at home on Sunday ... Grace heath leads the Blue Streaks in batting at .518 with a team-high 29 hits, 26 runs, and 3 triples ... Maddie Pidgeon leads the team with four home runs and 25 RBIs ... Peyton Morris boasts a 7-0 record and 34 strikeouts in 42.0 innings in the circle.
