Senior Gabby Stewart named Academic All-District 7 by College Sports Information Directors of America

ADA — Ohio Northern senior Gabby Stewart (Union, Ky./St. Henry) was named Academic All-District 7 in softball in voting conducted by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Stewart, a catcher majoring in nursing, was hitting .393 with three home runs and nine RBI though 10 games this season before the campaign was stopped on March 12 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

She was named 2nd Team All-Central Region and 1st Team All-Ohio Athletic Conference as a junior and was named Second Team All-Conference and Academic All-Conference and was named to the All-OAC Tournament Team as a sophomore in 2018.

Stewart is also a 3-time OAC Hitter of the Week honoree.

She currently ranks among the all-time statistical leaders in ONU history with 112 career RBI (seventh), 14 home runs (seventh), 35 doubles (eighth), 156 base hits (10th) and with a .373 batting average (15th).

Honorees selected first-team Academic All-District will advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot. Academic All-
America honorees will be announced from June 8-11.
